Too often when launching into Netowrk Marketing or MLM systems, if you are like I used to be, you don’t view it as a business. I’m not quite sure WHAT we view it as but it certainly isn’t a business. How do I know that? Because I run my own business and until finding Numis Network, I’ve never put the hours or training into an MLM that I have the other business I run. Why, I’m not quite sure but I have thought of some possibilities (mindsets):
1) “If I sign up, the money should just start flowing!”–Why this is our mindset at times? I think we get buffaloed by slick salesmanship. I still see it in a lot of network marketing advertising and I really think it gives the industry a BAD reputation. I’m trying to change that from MY standpoint and approach!
2) “This opportunity is a get-rich quick scheme and I’m going to get mine!”–Again I think this goes to some deceptive advertising that happens in the industry. I don’t necessarily think it is a malicious attempt at advertising but comes with the zealous approach to the product line. I am extremely excited about Numis Network and think the potential is phenomenal but I also know that it will take persistence and work! It’s just that simple.
3) “If I just find the right product, I won’t have to really work at this!”–Wanna bet? I read this in Magnetic Sponsorship and it really hit home but Mike Dillard said something to the effect–Go buy $10,000 worth of product and put it in your garage and pull up a lawn chair and see what happens with the stuff. It’s going to be in your garage in the months to follow if you don’t get out and hussle and get people interested in it. The same is true for every product. Find the one you are enthusiastic about and run with it.
4) “I’ve got such a good deal, nobody can possibly turn it down!”–Uh, again, wanna bet? I’ve seen this in various endeavors I’ve been involved in over the past many years. The opportunity makes so much sense to you but when you explain it to others they look at you like ‘a calf looking at a new gate!” They just don’t get it. That’s OK, you may have to speak to 100 people for every one lead that pays off! So be it!
5) “If my upline really cared about me they’d put people in my downline!”–Well, think about that statement a minute. What is it your upline member is trying to do? He’s trying to build HIS business just like you are trying to build yours! It does happen on occasion that your sponsor may put a person or two on your downline but the work to do that is actually yours! The fact that there may be an occasional sponsor who helps build their downline member’s team is the exception not the rule.
I hope this has opened your eyes to some of the wrong mindsets that can be destructive to your successful business building. I am thrilled with Numis Network and will work as hard as I can to make it a success. I have to remind myself sometimes that this is a business and I have to approach it as such in combination with utilizing a way to market on the net–I do that with Empower Network because David Wood and David Sharp are two of the most successful Network Marketers in the nation.
